Deposits due by Feb 28, 2022

I hope this email finds you well and staying warm. We have been busy updating reservations and doing flight arrangements. At this time, we want to start collecting deposits or full payments, whichever is most convenient to you. Our deadline for the $500 deposits is February 28. If we are purchasing air tickets for you then that money goes towards the flight; otherwise it will be substracted from your trip balance. Checks (preferably) can be mailed to the address below:

Additional forms of payment include: Paypal, Zelle, Venmo as long as they are attached to your bank account, or debit card, otherwise we'll be charged a 3% fee. Please make sure to contact us before making payments through any of these services as there are specific instructions for each.

Covid Travel Information

For your safety and that of others around you, all participants must be fully vaccinated in order to participate. Please let us know as soon as possible if this is an inconvenience that will prevent you from participating on this trip.

On January of this year, Costa Rica updated their Covid-19 policy to ensure the safety of all tourists as well as their people. Among those changes came a new regulation that all business establishments (hotels, restaurants, etc.) will require proof of vaccination in order to receive services.

One of the positive changes to their policy is that a Covid Coverage insurance is no longer required to enter the country for vaccinated visitors. The only requirement to enter the country is to have a "Health Pass", which can be obtained from the following website https://salud.go.cr/ . This health pass can only be obtained 48hrs prior to your arrival and will provide you with a QR Code to be presented to customs on arrival. Something that has not changed is that we'll be required a Covid test in order to enter the U.S. We'll make the arrangements to get all of us tested the day before our departure. Last year, the cost of the antigen test was $60 and we got our results via email in 4 hrs.

Flight & Logistics

While we prefer that everybody flies with us from MCO (Orlando International) on our preferred airline (JetBlue), we understand many of you may have miles or vouchers from other airlines. In this case, we encourage you to use your airline of choice, but try to make it to SJO (San Jose) no later than 2pm. If you can't get any flights before that time, we suggest you fly the day before and we can arrange for hotel and airport pick-up for you. Upon arrival, we must get our vehicles and go across the Continental Divide as soon as possible to avoid the cloud buildup and rains commonly encountered at that altitude. If you have any questions about flight options or any other logistic questions, please feel free to contact us. We'll need all your flight information to setup our logistics for the arrival day. We understand flight itineraries are constantly changing, so please let us know of any changes on your flight as soon as possible.

More Resources for you

Just in case you missed any of these resources in our sign-up page, below you have links to our itinerary, the newsletter and a great article from one of our first trips to Costa Rica back in 2007, written by Gary White. The newsletter contains useful information on what to bring, food, and photo techniques to help you get the best images while in Costa Rica. During the trip, we will have nightly briefings on the activities scheduled for the following day. We will also provide you with photography feedback and talk about the wildlife you'll encounter.
