Hello reader reader
The start of our adventure in Costa Rica is near and I wanted to leave you with reading materials to get you acquainted with some of the photo techniques we'll be using. Even the best photographers spend the first couple of days adjusting to the low light situations commonly found in the rainforest. Be aware that a tripod it's a must on this trip, not only for stability but also to reduce body movements while close to our subjects. King Vultures and Toucans are very motion sensitive subjects and one must try not to make sudden movements while shooting to allow for everybody to get their shots. If you have any questions about gear to bring or how to protect your gear etc. feel free to send me an email. Below you will find a list of important items you should have with you on this trip.

Items you should not forget
  • Good outdoor shoes and clothes that can get dirty, because you will. We do laundry during the trip so you don't have to bring an excessive amount of clothes.
  • A compact rain poncho or windbreaker jacket. It gets cold at 10,000 feet!!!
  • Batteries and chargers for all your devices.
  • Flash, headlamp or flash light. We do a lot of work at night.
  • Money: do not bring large bills ($50 or $100) they are hard to break.
  • Your insurance paperwork, and passport must travel with you at all times while in Costa Rica.
  • Binoculars for the non-photographers
