MADAGASCAR 2025 JUNE 28 - July 13

I’m reaching out to provide you with some additional information for your upcoming trip to Madagascar. As you may already know, Madagascar is one of the world’s top biodiversity hotspots, renowned for its exceptional endemism. With over 100 species of lemurs, 300 species of frogs, and 120 endemic bird species, you’ll have countless opportunities to capture incredible photographs.
Given this, I recommend coming prepared with gear suitable for macro, bird, and landscape photography. On the right, you’ll find a list of the equipment I plan to bring along. As you’ll see, I’ve covered nearly all focal lengths. The 28-70mm lens will serve as an all-purpose lens for wide shots of landscapes, lifestyle moments, and even the social lemurs. The 150-600mm lens will primarily be used for bird photography, while the macro lens will focus on smaller subjects such as insects, frogs, and reptiles.
Madagascar is home to some of the world’s most colorful frogs and chameleons, so it’s a great opportunity for close-up shots.
Flash is allowed for most subjects, with the exception of lemurs—especially the nocturnal species. I’ll be bringing along LED lights to assist with capturing nocturnal creatures like the Aye-Aye.
Additionally, I’ve included some reference materials for you, including a couple of videos on Madagascar and a PDF wildlife guide, which should help with preparations.

Below are the videos for your reference.
