GALAPAGOS ISLANDS Aug 26, 2026 - Sep 05, 2026
|
I'm thrilled about this upcoming journey because it gives me the chance to guide you together with my friend Jaime through one of the most significant island chains in the world. Just as Charles Darwin did back in 1835, we will both be captivated by the wildlife, stunning landscapes, and enigmatic secrets these islands hold. I'm taking advantage of this opportunity to share essential articles, literature, and video resources about the islands with you. I strongly encourage you to view some of the videos, as your understanding will be put to the test during our time on these islands.

I'm also providing a few pages from my Photographer's Guide to the Galapagos, offering valuable photography tips. To my friends who are passionate about birdwatching, be sure to download the Galapagos Pack for the Merlin app; it will assist you in identifying the 17 species of Darwin finches. I'm currently in the process of creating a PDF guide to Galapagos Wildlife, which will be accessible in the near future. In the meantime, here are some recommended resources for you.

Documentaries to watch

The Galapagos Affair: Satan Comes to Eden This is a fascinating tale of the initial settlements on Floreana Island. The Wittmer family emerged as pioneers in the realm of Galapagos tourism. During my time aboard the Tip Top III, I had the privilege of meeting some of their family members.

Some of you have already begun booking your flights to Ecuador. If you need assistance, Holbrook is available to help with flight arrangements. Please remember that the flight between mainland Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands is included in the cost of the trip. I will also be sharing additional details soon regarding our day excursion to the Yanacocha Preserve in Quito.
