I hope this email find you all doing well. Just wanted to give you some updates on the current situation with Covid-19 and Ecuador. I've been in communications with several of the lodges and people we know in Ecuador. It appears that they may be opening the country for travelers early July. Copa, our air carrier for this trip has cancelled all their flights until further notice. We contacted them to see how they will handle refunds, and their answer is only vouchers for a later flight to any of their destinations.

I'm willing to wait until 30 days prior to our schedule departure to make a decision whether we cancel this trip or not. As of now, we are all on hold and so are the lodges and providers in Ecuador. We will also check with our insurance to see what are the chances of a refund for the insurance paid that would not be used if we have to cancel this trip. I think we still have time for things to settle down and it may be too early to cancel this trip. If by June 10th the travel ban has not been lifted and the airline can't re-start their flights we will be forced to cancel or postpone the trip. At that point we will have more information in terms of the options with the airline, etc.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly at any time. Thank you for your understanding.
